The team at Buderim Vet Surgery support both local school and University work experience programs by hosting students to support their vet science degree and in the case of school students, gain an insight into our field when considering vet science as a future career option.

  • Dr. Geeta Saini
    BVSc Honours (First Class)

    Geeta has been a part of Buderim Vet Surgery since 1982 and has been co-owner with Sue Coote since 1991. She has a special interest in internal medicine and is the Veterinarian on the Sunshine Coast University’s Animal Ethics Committee.

    Geeta has volunteered with the group Vets Beyond Borders, desexing feral dogs and vaccinating them against rabies in Ladakh, India. Geeta is also involved in continuing education in South East Asia, and has lectured to local vets in Sri Lanka.

  • Dr. Sue Coote

    Sue has been caring for Sunshine Coast pets since 1981. She has held a lifelong love of animals and dedication to their positive health outcomes, and has a particular passion for cats. Sue enjoys volunteering in the Pet PEP program which educates school children about responsible pet ownership. Her involvement with youth also extends to mentoring and encouraging teenagers in our community toward healthy lifestyles.

  • Dr. Andrew Barr
    BVSc Honours

    Andrew graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1987. He has worked in a number of small animal clinics, in Melbourne, the United Kingdom, and here on the Sunshine Coast which he has called home for the past 10 years. He enjoys the outdoor lifestyle here and especially his favourite escape and past time, offshore fishing.

    Andrew is the resident Surgeon at our Practice with significant expertise and interest in orthopaedics.

  • Brooke Aish
    Head Veterinary Nurse

    Brooke has been part of our team since late 2009 and has since graduated with her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at the Animal Industries Resource Centre in Brisbane. Brooke has a keen interest in animal welfare and geriatric care. She can help provide our clients with advice based on sound knowledge and also personal experience from her beloved 17 year old Himalayan, 10 year old Manchester Terrier and 10 year old Rottweiler.

  • Caroline Bouffler
    Veterinary Nurse

    A well known face at Buderim Vet Surgery since 1996, Caroline rejoined our team early in 2012 after a two year sabbatical to serve our clients one or two days a week from our front desk, Caroline has a special interest in canine behaviour, breeding, and dog showing.

    Our Nursing team are a font of knowledge in all aspects of optimum nutrition for your pet, weight control, flea control, worming, behavioural assistance, and topical treatments and grooming products.

  • Sandy Winkworth
    Business Manager

    A qualified Veterinary Business Manager, Sandy has worked behind the scenes at Buderim Vet Surgery since 2003, keeping the administrational side of the clinic ticking over and supporting the Vets and Nurses in their medical roles caring for your pets. Sandy was awarded the veterinary industry nationally recognised Australian Veterinary Business Manager of the Year Award in 2011.
