Dr Richelle joined our Vet team in the beginning of 2020 and brings with her an immense amount of warmth and care! Richelle has a particularly special interest in reproduction, ultrasonography, dentistry, pups & kittens (how could she not?!) and client education.
Dr Richelle moved to the Sunshine Coast with husband Lachlan (also a fellow Vet!) in 2013, after locuming around the UK for 2 years and working in Brisbane and Gympie in the early days of her career. Working part-time with us here in clinic, Richelle spends her spare time chasing her two kids around at the park, going to Moffat Beach and drinking lots of coffee! Dr Richelle has a small menagerie of pets at home that were all strays and rescues through work – Euka a 12yo Staffy, Pip a 10yo Toy Pomeranian (and the boss!) and Edna an 8yo Bull Arab (Congenitally deaf, Cerebellar Hypoplasia -- affectionately known as "steady Eddie" due to her intention tremors).
Andrew graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1987. He has worked in a number of small animal clinics in Melbourne, the United Kingdom and here in the Sunshine Coast which he has called home for the past 10 years. He enjoys the outdoor lifestyle here and especially his favourite escape and past time, offshore fishing.
Andrew is the resident Surgeon at our Practice with significant expertise and interest in orthopaedics.
Dr Geeta has been a part of Buderim Vet Surgery since 1982! Dr Geeta has been incredibly well-known and loved throughout our clinic for many years, after stepping away from owning the clinic in 2018, Dr Geeta has reduced her hours a bit to enjoy some well-deserved time outside for travel and plenty of time spent at the beach with her border terrier dog Maude.
Geeta has volunteered with the group Vets Beyond Borders, desexing feral dogs and vaccinating them against rabies in Ladakh, India. She has also been involved in continuing education in South East Asia and has lectured to local vets in Sri Lanka. Dr Geeta maintains her special interest in internal medicine and loves to see her long-term clients still coming to the clinic for fantastic care and service.
Brooke has been a well-known face in our clinic for many years now, after joining our team in 2009. Her career has progressed over the years to Head Veterinary Nurse and as of 2018, our beloved Practice Manager. Our clinic has always been much loved and treasured by Brooke and she even attended the clinic when she was just a very young girl with her family pets! Brooke has been very passionate in advancing her skills and knowledge as a Veterinary Nurse. After spending a 3 year stint working between Buderim and our local Emergency Centre, Brooke has settled into her Practice Management role but ensures she still gets plenty of Nursing time too!
Geriatric and special needs pets have always been Brooke's ultimate soft spot. She has opened her heart and home to many rescue dogs, cats and guinea pigs and ensured that they lived out the last of their days feeling nothing but love, joy and safety. Her pets have always been what keeps her heart warm and makes her world go round, so Brooke loves nothing more than to be part of helping an ill or injured patient recover and go back home to their family.
In her spare time, Brooke loves to be out in nature enjoying time with her partner David (also a fellow Vet!), living a healthy lifestyle and balancing it all out with some yoga.
Jess was born and raised on a farm on King Island, Tasmania. She grew up surrounded by all kinds of animals, big and small! In 2019, Jess made the big move to the Sunshine Coast and ventured into our clinic to apply for a trainee Vet Nursing position. We knew right away that Jess was meant to join our team! With her calm and caring demeanour and her intuition for Vet Nursing, Jess has progressed very far in her skills and knowledge as a trainee Vet Nurse and we cannot wait to see her graduate.
Jess is the proud mumma of her big goofy chocolate Lab named Moose! She is always particularly excited to see fellow Lab’s coming into the clinic!! In her spare time, Jess enjoys going to markets on the weekends, nature hikes and adventuring the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
Olivia began working with us as a Trainee Vet Nurse in 2019. Initially, she attended the clinic on a weekly basis as a Volunteer student but we very quickly fell in love with her bright and enthusiastic personality and knew that she was the perfect fit for our team! Since becoming a permanent Vet Nurse with us, Olivia is nearing completion of her Vet Nursing qualifications. She has gained a large passion for dog training and behaviour throughout her career introduction and after a bit of extra study, has become the teacher of our puppy pre-school classes! Olivia is much loved by our puppy owners and her large affiliation to animals means that these young pooches are learning to love coming to the Vet!
Olivia lives on the rural end of the Sunshine Coast and has rescued a couple of dogs to come and live out their days on her beautiful property. She has two Border Collies named Arya and Jack and an elderly Tibetan Spaniel X named Jock. In her spare time, Olivia loves to spend time with her much loved dogs, head to the beach or spend time enjoying nature on her property.
Kelly has been with us at Buderim Veterinary Surgery since 2017. Starting with us as a trainee Vet Nurse, Kelly has now has successfully completed her Certificate. Kelly grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and had dreamed of a career in the animal industry since she was a little girl. Every day she enjoys learning about the different medical conditions, broadening her knowledge in surgical nursing, caring for the animals in hospital and helping to give them plenty of love and cuddles!
During her spare time Kelly enjoys volunteering at the Eumundi Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. Her other interests include keeping fit at the gym and exploring all the Sunshine Coast has to offer; from the beach to the mountains and waterfalls in the hinterland! For company, Kelly has two lorikeets called Lenni and Cosmo and two rescued guinea pigs called Piggy and Squealy!
